Immigration
Canada is known for being a welcoming country, attracting people from all over the world, whether for tourism, work, family, or seeking asylum from persecution. However, the Canadian immigration system is complex and has numerous requirements that anyone needs to meet in order to enter the country or stay longer. I represent your interests in the immigration system, and have experience helping many clients navigate this often lengthy and involved process to a successful conclusion. I apply my knowledge to help make the best case for clients, whether they are coming to Canada briefly, or permanently, for business, pleasure, or family.

Wills
A will is the key to passing your personal and private property to your loved ones after passing, but it is important to have one no matter your age. A well-drafted will ensures that unexpected events are planned for, your intentions are clear, and your heirs will receive precisely what you intended. If you have major changes in your life, such as marriage, it may be time to draft a new will. I have experience writing wills for clients in a number of life situations, as well as Powers of Attorney.

Real Estate
For most people, buying real estate is one of the largest transactions of their lifetime, both in financial terms and emotional. Owning a home brings stability and security to daily life, but buying can be a complex and lengthy process in Ontario, with many pitfalls for new buyers. I have the knowledge and experience to help you navigate these.
Throughout the process, from the initial signing of the contract through to closing, and beyond, I will give you the assurance you need that you are the rightful owner of your new property, and that you have exactly what you paid for. If you are selling your property, I will be there for you to ensure that you fulfill all of your obligations as a seller under the laws of Ontario, while also making sure the buyer fulfills their own obligation to make the agreed-upon transaction successful. |
Family Law
Family law matters can be some of the most difficult experiences in a person’s lifetime, whether emotionally, physically, and financially. Ontario laws and courts have the goal of encouraging reconciliation as much as possible, but they also add a great deal of complexity. Being represented by a lawyer in negotiations or litigation is extremely important, as it is the best way to have your rights protected while also preventing a family law issue from dragging on, as is unfortunately far too common in family court. I have experience with low-conflict and high-conflict matters, including divorces, property division, separation agreements, and child custody/visitation arrangements.

Notarizing
I am an appointed Notary Public in the province of Ontario, which authorizes me to witness your signature on affidavits, administer oaths, and certify true copies of many kinds of legal documents that you sign. These are required for many kinds of government applications and private legal matters.
